Seeing how it is actually starting to feel like spring and the first race of the season is behind us (Joe's Steaming Nostril Report) I feel like we can finally start discussing the plan for the 2014 Kate's Kause Cycling team. The past two years our team of dedicated and hard-working riders have managed to raise roughly $13,000 plus an additional $3,000 in corporate sponsorships for jerseys, swag, prizes etc. I am nearly done collecting all the corporate sponsorships so it is time once again to put together our team roster.
Like past years we are seeking riders of any ability (beginner to elite) ready to ride/race together at Centurion Blue Mountain with a promise of fund-raising a minimum of $150 for Kate's Kause. In return for your hard-work and dedication to our team you will get a free jersey, swag bag, pre- and post race support at Centurion, training rides all season long and a great sense of accomplishment. If you have not ridden for our team in the past I highly suggest you read Ken's 2013 Centurion Race Report for inspiration to join our team. If you are interested in being a part of our team simply let me know by the end of May!
If you are unsure if this team is right for you feel free to come out and learn more about our team at our Spring Social on Friday May 2nd at 7pm (location to be announced). This night is a good night to meet with current and past riders and learn a little more about Kate's Kause, Centurion and what our team is all about. Also, if people are interested I am hope to have a bicycle mechanic give a short "Simple Bicycle Maintenance Tutorial" just before the start of the spring social.
If Centurion is just not your thing feel free to support the team by just purchasing a jersey ($75 and ordered before May 30th), pledging someone on the team or simply join us for our weekly training rides.
Can't wait to start this season!
