Once a year our group tests out our fitness and head out on one really long ride. A number of people in our group have never ridden 100km before and this is a great way of achieving that first metric century. This year's route will once again be 100km long but always nice and close to home should you choose to peel off early. The ride itself is a partially-supported group ride put on by the members of the Kate's Kause Cycling Team. We will have a support vehicle stock with food and drinks meet us twice over the 100km route. Following the ride we will have a BBQ for all participants and their families in Elmira. At the BBQ there will be food, drinks and a bouncy castle for the kids! To participate in this event we ask for a small donation to Kate's kause and is free for Kate's Kause Cycling Team members. It doesn't get much better than this route! Rolling hills, fast flats, great scenery and even some fresh pavement. Really looking forward to this ride: The long weekend is fast approaching and so let's plan for a long fast ride. Here is the route for this Sunday leaving from Perks Coffee House at 8:30am (http://goo.gl/maps/cc3IR): Its about time that we spent a Sunday morning at the lake so we will be heading to Conestoga Lake through Glen Allen and back along 4th Line into Floradale. This is an excellent training route as it starts of with lots of nice rollers and ends with a nice flat finish all the way back to Elmira. One of the best routes in our area! See you Sunday! Sunday July 13th 8:30am at Perks Coffee House in Elmira (http://goo.gl/maps/cc3IR) This week's route is a slightly extended version of one of our go to routes through Yatton. We can always extend it a little further if we are feeling up to it! See you Sunday Time for an adventure! We will be leaving 8:30am from Perks Coffee House in Elmira (http://goo.gl/maps/cc3IR). This will likely be long ride for many of us so be sure to pack plenty of water and food to get through this one. Sunday June 29th 8:30am at Perks Coffee House in Elmira (http://goo.gl/maps/cc3IR) We have been taking it a little easy the past couple of weeks so now it is time to push ourselves a little harder. Here is the route we will tackle this Sunday: This Sunday is theTour de Waterloo so I think many of our riders will be racing at this event but if you are not feel free to join us at Perks Coffee House on Sunday at 8:30am for a group ride. Here is this week's route: Sunday is Father's Day and after some brief discussion with the Fathers on the team there was an over-whelming response this week's route should be "nice and flat". I don't really agree that a route that is "flat" could possibly be "nice" but here is my attempt at that. Since the route is so incredibly flat I thought I would make it a little longer than what we have been doing (and I expect we will go all out on Crowsfoot) As always, the ride will start at Perk's Coffee House in Elmira at 8:30am. Hope to see everyone out! |
