The relaxed attitude we had at the back was just what I needed to get up that first hill. Seeing Ken's chain explode right in front of me (not realizing it was him) but avoiding the debris was the first hurdle. Thinking we were done with the hills only to climb two more was almost deflating but exhilarating when we finally conquered the last one :).
Going down that first big hill and reaching 76km/hr was scary but fun. Having the transport pass Jeremy and I at that same moment was terrifying to say the least but Jeremy's comment afterwards was my highlight of the whole day lol.
Fred and I stayed together the whole way. He'd pull ahead on the hills and i would catch up in the downslope. Meeting with and talking to new people along the was fun too. The last hill of not pedaling for 4 km or more was just plain fun but I was secretly scared of crashing hahaha. And crossing the line and seeing so many cheering us on was just what my tired legs needed!!
It was a great summer of training capped off by a great ride up blue! Thanks to the team for all the hard work and for helping me train!
